Birth Story: Chapter Four..........

On Friday June 24th we had visitors coming
and going through out the day. Aspen
and Raider instantly loved their sister.
Trent and I got some alone time during
the day. We went on a few walks up and down
 the halls,doctors orders. I started
feeling better and was able to keep
my food down!! I was in quite a bit
of pain but I so badly didn't want any
narcotic drugs. When night time rolled
around I was in tears from pain and
in tears with frustration (The hospital
encourages mothers to keep their baby during
the night instead of sending them to the
nursery. Because of my pain,
I couldn't even sit up and hold Cedar
without hurting). It was 10:00 pm, knowing
that Trent was home with our other kids,
I almost called him to come back to the hospital
cause I was having a brake down.
My Doctor talked me into
taking a half dose of medication and
he sent Cedar to the nursery, I needed
sleep. The night got much better.

Saturday June 25 was great.
I slept well, my pain was being managed,
I could go the bathroom, shower and
walk on my own. The food was great.
It was a quiet morning, I got up, showered,
got ready (kind of). Trent came over and we
just hung out till it was time to go home,
It was a bitter sweet feeling, knowing
that this was the last time. I'd be leaving
the hospital with a newborn .....The End

Birth Story: Chapter Three......

Right before I went to the O,R,, I
got lots more epidural. This time I was
numb from my chest down, weird feeling.
Trent and Cedar were doing their thing in the
nursery. I was lying flat on my back
with my legs strapped down in a very cold room.
Let the tubal ligation began...
It was at least 12:30 am, they gave me
a heating blanket for my upper body and
I started drifting off to sleep while
the Doctor, nurse and the anesthesiologist
worked and took great care of me.
Towards the end I started not feeling well.
My body was hot and cold. I started shaking
uncontrollably. I was sweating and had
the chills. Next thing I know, I am throwing
up in a bag. I have never felt so sick.
Plus I was helpless and I could only move my
arms. Again, the medical staff was amazing,
Once my tubal was done and I was stitched
and glued up, they lifted me back onto the
hospital bed and wheeled me back to
Trent and Cedar. Even though I was
throwing up, I was starving.
I ate some crackers and drank some juice.
Of coarse I just threw them up, It was
a vicious cycle....throwing up, shaking, running
a fever. Finally they wheeled us into the
Mother and Child unit (Mother and Baby was full).
Trent fed and Changed Cedar while the nurse helped
me to the bathroom for the first time.
Finally and 3:00 am, Friday the 24th,
Trent went home to get some sleep.
Cedar and I were alone for the first time.
I was exhausted, sick, yet peaceful.
We both fell asleep for about one and
a half hours,.....

Birth Story...Chapter Two

When the nurse checked me, I was only dilated
to a one and a half. Right then I knew it would
be a long day/night. I told Trent their was no rush,
he could go home, shower and grab some lunch.
He arrived to the hospital around 4:00pm and
Fernanda left shortly after that. My contractions
started getting stronger, I got an epidural and
a catheter around 6:00pm, both felt amazing. At
9:00pm I was only dilated to a five, I wanted to cry. As
I lay there, numb, I kept feeling like I had to go
pee. Their was lots of pressure in my bladder/pelvis.
I told the nurse, she checked me again and within
45 minutes I had gone from a five to a ten!!! Yay, it
was time to push. As we waited for the doctor, This
baby girls heart rate started dropping. I was getting
real nervous. After a few urgent calls from the nurse, Dr.
Haskett got right to work. I pushed and pushed, got
an episiotomy, pushed and pushed more. Finally
at 11:24 pm little miss Cedar J. Turner
made her grand appearance. Coming in
at 8lbs 8oz and 19" long. Also, she had
hair!!!!!!! I held my angle for only a
minute, then it was time for Trent
and Cedar to go to the nursery and
for me to go to the O.R. .....

Birth Story: Chapter One....

This little girl inside me has been turned
the wrong way, A C-section was the original plan.
Dr. Haskett wanted to induce me at 38 weeks and
try to flip her so I could have a vaginal birth.
Two weeks early was too early for me.
Knowing that if I went past 38 weeks the baby
would be to big to flip, I still declined his offer. I went
in for a check-up at 38 weeks and this girl was
magically head down!!!! Five days later
I went in for another check-up to make sure
she stayed in the right position, she did!! My new plan
was to just let her come on her own. Dr. Haskett was
mostly ok with my plan, Because of the heat, my swelling,
and mine/the baby size, the doctor wouldn't let me go one
day past my due date. Together we decided to have
a vaginal induction at 39 weeks.
On Thursday June 23 (my 39 week mark), I called
the hospital about the induction, They told me that
they got really busy during the night. Even
though I was at the top of the list, it might not happen today. Oh-well.
Trent went to work and I went on about my day as usual.
Mid-morning I started spotting and not feeling well. At
12:40 the hospital called and told me to be there at
1:30. Good thing cause I was already having
light contractions, I took Aspen and Raider
to grandma Jans, Called Trent and told him to leave work.
Called Fernanda and she met me at the hospital and
hung out while Trent was on his way.
At the hospital they hooked up my IV, low dose of
pitocin and fed me
Italian ice till my man got there.
